היום (23.1.18) לאחר שמועות והדלפות רבות, חברת DJI השיקה רשמית את הרחפן החדש שלה: Mavic Air (מאביק אייר).
עד היום הרחפן הזול והזמין ביותר להמונים מבית החברה היה רחפן ה-Spark (ספארק) במחיר התחלתי של כ-2100 ש"ח שנתן תמורה מעולה למחירו. המוצר ההמשכי לו היה רחפן המאביק פרו, שנתן יכולות גבוהות בהרבה, ועם זאת - המחיר עלה בהתאם.

ההבדל בין רחפן הספארק לרחפן המאביק אייר החדש מורגש בשדרוג שלושה פרמטרים מרכזיים:
טווח קליטה גדול יותר, מצלמה איכותית יותר וזמן טיסה רב יותר. בנוסף לכך קיימים לו גם רגלי נחיתה מתקפלים פנימה.
