רחפן מונע תא-דלק, הסוף לזמני הבטריה הקצרים?
בכתבה שהעלתה רשת BBC , כתבת הרשת ומטיסת רחפנים בעצמה, ביקרה באתר הניסויים של Intelligent Energy המפתחת תא-דלק (מבוסס מימן), הרחפן הוא רחפן המטריקס של DJI שהוסב לצורך הפיתוח ומגיע לכשעתיים של טיסה למיכל.

זמן מילוי המיכל הוא כדקות ספורות בלבד בניגוד לבטריה שלוקחת כשעה ויותר להטענה. זאת למעשה אותה הטכנולוגיה שהוצגה לפני מעל לעשור לתחום הרכב אך לא נכנסה עקב עלות פיתוח גבוה, בטיחות, מחיר דלק הנמוך יחסית לאותה התקופה ובעיקר כי חברות הדלק, בעזרת לוביסטים ובעזרת השליטה במניות של חברות הרכב לא נתנו לפיתוח כזה לתפוס תאוצה.
הבשורה כנראה, תגיע בלת ברירה, מתחום הרחפנים, שבו, כך נראה, אין לחברות הדלק אפשרות להשפיע.
