Manned patrol vs. an autonomous drone-in-a-box
There are two models. In the first, a licensed pilot arrives and flies a patrol or mission, as a single or managed service. In the second, an autonomous drone-in-a-box system is installed on site: it launches on its own by schedule or in response to an alert, flies a route, lands and recharges without an operator on site. The autonomous system provides 24/7 coverage, suits large and isolated sites, and integrates with a control room and AI that detects anomalies in real time.
Night flight and BVLOS: what is allowed and who is licensed
Most of the value in security is at night with a thermal camera, and night flight requires a special operation authorisation from the CAA, granted to licensed pilots only. An autonomous system or wide perimeter monitoring also requires a further authorisation for flight beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), and in sensitive areas advance airspace coordination is required too. Not every pilot holds these authorisations. We connect you only to companies that hold them where the mission requires it, and insured.
